CRM’s 70 Day Challenge

In honor of our 70th year anniversary, we have been challenged to raise $70,000 in 70 days and we need Jacksonville’s help! Thanks to the support from volunteers, and donors, we are giving hope. All of our programs are provided at no cost to the recipient, and we receive no government assistance for our programs. Your support is vital as we shelter the homeless and heal the addicted.
City Rescue Mission has been sheltering the homeless and healing the addicted since 1946. On any given day, CRM serves over 700 people in need. Our New Life Inn is the front door of our services. Through our emergency services, we offer food and nightly shelter in a safe caring environment to single men and women as well as women with children. “With the summer quickly approaching, we anticipate seeing a spike in guests due to the harsh climate change,” according to Executive Director Penny Kievet. “The average high temperature during the months of June, July, and August exceeds 90 degrees. Our New Life Inn not only provides visitors with a cool place to sleep, but our staff and volunteers make sure everyone leaves with clean clothing and two nutritious meals.”
Thanks to our LifeBuilders addiction recovery program, each year hundreds of men and women rebuild lives that have been broken by substance abuse and other life-controlling issues. LifeBuilders is a long-term, residential program. The average student is enrolled for 12-18 months, giving participants an opportunity to heal deep broken issues. Prior to completing the recovery program, students enter into the Workforce Development program where our counselors help students match their skills with potential employers, or educational opportunities.

When a life is broken, change has to start somewhere.
It usually begins when the hardship of hunger or homelessness drives someone to CRM for a meal at our New Life Inn. Our programs have been giving more than meals and shelter the last 70 years. Would you help make a difference today by making a contribution and helping us meet our goal toward $70,000 in 70 days? The 70 day challenge ends August 10th. City Rescue Mission has been caring for the homeless and needy in Northeast Florida since 1946.  In addition to the New Life Inn homeless shelter downtown, the 501 (C)(3) organization offers an 18- month, Christian-based addiction recovery program called LifeBuilders and Workforce development program.  The mission is funded by individuals, businesses, foundations and churches, accepting no government money for programs.
