Random Acts of Kindness Day

City Rescue Mission has been blessed to have many volunteers, donors, and partners demonstrate random acts of kindness throughout the years. These acts of kindness have come in many different forms. Every day, churches, organizations, and volunteers take turns serving meals at our New Life Inn and McDuff Campus. Our LifeBuilders students have the luxury of receiving mentor ship, discipleship and even life-skills training, all because of the wonderful hearts who care for those in need.

For the seventh consecutive year, City Rescue Mission was able to collect cold winter items, including blankets, winter coats and scarves from Jackson Hewitt’s 7th Annual Community Warmth Drive. Thanks to the leadership of BB Todd, Marketing Specialist and the Normandy office employees, all customers coming in for tax services were encouraged to help give a helping hand and bring in a cold weather item.

The beauty about this annual Community Warmth Drive, is that people all around the community come together and give to people they will never meet. It is a true random act of kindness that ultimately brings warmth to the souls of those receiving the cold weather items.

Jackson Hewitt begins the Community Warmth Drive in January of each year. This year, hundreds of people participated around the Jacksonville community. In  a short month and a half, three large barrels were filled to the brim and all donations will be distributed to men, women and children in our community.

In honor of Random Acts of Kindness Day, City Rescue Mission would like to thank all who help us serve our neighbors in need everyday. Thanks for your love and support!
