I was down, needed help and was told that I could find it at a place like City Rescue Mission. God brought me here and I thank Him. I am going to church and serving the Lord, giving him all the praise honor and glory.

I was strung out on drugs, had lost my family and had no where to go. I was in desperate need of change. Now I remodel homes, attend college, and attend Ark Baptist Church of God teaching a teen Sunday school class. I have found treasure in having a personal relationship with Christ.

Sam
So many doors were closed for me – there was no room in my life for blessing - until I came to CRM. I was hard to deal with so a special thanks to my counselors, Pastor Cruse and Ms. Cook for looking past my stuff and helping me to begin a new life with a new attitude. Glory to the Lord God!

After landing in Jacksonville, 12 years ago I found myself struggling with addiction, homeless and lacking fellowship with God. Today, I have a wonderful family. I’m a Journeyman Carpenter. I thank God for the City Rescue Mission that encourages a serious relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ as the answer to ALL of life’s issues.

I was addicted to crack and out of control. Now I have a beautiful family and I’m a licensed contractor. I attend Every Nation Church in Tallahassee and certified for Christian Ministry in prisons. I wake up every day giving the Lord Jesus Christ thanks. God saved my life. I thank Him for CRM.

I attend Spring Glen Baptist Church.  I still reach out to help those who struggle. God has revived a dead soul and He continues to show me the better way, trusting in Him. Adversities still arise but God has already won the victory and in Christ we have won also!!!

I wanted a better life for me and my kids. My kids are my life. I’m in school studying medical billing through Colorado Tech University. God changed my life when I was at CRM. He gave me another chance to be with my kids and a chance to go back to school.

My life was lost. I now have my own place, work at Sneaker Corner 2 and attend Crystal Springs Church. I was lost without him and now that I have Him my whole life has turned completely around. God has given me life.

My life was out of control due to drugs and alcohol. I now work fulltime at the Potter’s House Soul Food Bistro and attend the Potter’s House Fellowship. God has given me a new life and I’m now facing life’s difficulties without drugs and alcohol.

Eric
I am sitting here knowing I had grown up in Church. As I was getting older I walked away from my faith. Presently now at City Rescue Mission, I am learning physical, mental and emotional strengths. Every day I learn “he’s food for the soul.”  I digest his words morning, noon and night. I am so appreciative that he’s my Father in Christ. I am spiritually grateful for His love. Jesus loves us. Jesus imagined his children. He infinitely loves us, made us, created us as an image of Him. He has replaced my addiction. Now I smile every day. I am peaceful in every way. Now that City Rescue Mission taught me about ‘the Life of Christ’, now I can say “I am not afraid”. Amen.

Shante
Drugs and life brought me to CRM. Now, I’m working for Hospitality Staffing and Levi Restaurants. I volunteer at Community Hospice and participate in NA. I attend West Jacksonville Church of God and Christ. If God does any more for me I will just scream – the grass is truly greener on this side.

Shirley
One summer vacation while working a tobacco field, my cousins introduced me to marijuana and beer – they had no idea the turn my life would take. Now I attend The Lord’s Church. I thank God for bringing me to CRM – and bringing me freedom from ALL my demons.

Sin had me in a horrible pit! I’m now enrolled at FSCJ majoring in business and attend United Miracle Temple. God has shown me unconditional love in spite of me and what His favor really looks like. Now, I know my place and it’s in Him.

I came to the mission because I was down and out. I needed to change in order to get my life back. I work for Bucket Meat Market and attend Bethel Baptist Institutional Church. God did a miracle in my life. I’m so glad he ordered my steps to CRM.

Addicted to drugs, I came to get my life straightened out. While here I found more. I found Christ. I’m continuing my reading classes, attend two bible studies at my church and sing in the choir. I even help clean the church. God changed my life. I’m moving forward getting stronger each day.

I wouldn’t be alive without Him, my family and CRM!

I was pursuing a dead end. I wanted help. A ministry in Fort Valley, GA told me about the LifeBuilder’s program in Jacksonville. I am now married, employed as an Environmental Tech at Baptist Medical Center and fellowship at Cornerstone Word Church. God allowed me to choose eternal life. I seek His face daily remembering Philippians 1:6.

Dorothy
I was searching for a new way of life - a new beginning! I’m currently an environmental tech-truck driver at WRS Compass and a member of the Corner Stone Word Church. God has given me that new beginning - a wonderful life, great job and new family. The God that I serve is truly amazing and I’m grateful!
