City Rescue Mission is holding The 6th Annual Great City Rescue Mission Bed Race on Saturday, November 14th, 2009 at Julia Landon Middle School. You are invited to participate! Now, what exactly is a bed race? It is a race between teams to see who has the fastest handmade bed on wheels. Five people push the bed, while a sixth teammate acts as navigator on top of the bed! Each team should decorate their bed and try to get as creative as possible! Teams will be judged by: Best Decorated Bed, Most Entertaining Team, Best Fundraising Team, Best Team Costume, Fastest Bed and Overall Winner. This year's theme for the Bed Race is "Jacksonville History and Landmarks." The event is a great way to get your family, friends, youth groups or work associates together for a light-hearted competition! And, the best part of it all, is it helps feed the homeless and needy in Jacksonville! In addition to the Bed Race, join us for a community festival with children's fair, music, concessions and decorated bed judging. There are also sponsorship opportunities and vendor space available! Ready to sign up?! Join us at the City Rescue Mission McDuff Campus on August 19 for Bed Race Team Planning Meeting/Luncheon (and earn your team some extra points!) at 11 a.m. For more information or to RSVP for the August 19 luncheon, please call 904-421-5157.

We can't wait to see you there!
